Rohit Sharma has had a very ordinary South Africa tour until now. After being drafted into the Test side for the first two Tests, lot was expected of Rohit Sharma, as he had had a wonderful time in the Test side during the home series(and the Sri Lanka tour).

The South Africa tour was supposed to be the stepping stone in Sharma’s career as an all round batsman, but he has failed to deliver.
With almost all batsmen failing to score on those venomous Test tracks, criticism against Rohit Sharma seemed a bit pre-mature.
The ODI series came soon enough, and India expected Rohit Sharma to be back in ominous form, but that hasn’t quite transpired in the first 4 ODIs with Rohit recording scores of 20, 15, 0 and 5.
Rohit has often been criticised for being susceptive to the swinging and seaming ball, but this ODI series hasn’t really presented him with those challenges, and still he has found a way to fail.
The problem has been with Rohit’s application on the crease, as he hasn’t quite capitalised on his starts, giving his wicket away quite easily, having played rash shots in the first two ODI’s and then getting a tab bit unlucky in the last two.
Rohit seemed determined to leave the ball outside the off -stump in the initial few overs, ready to dig deep and fight it out in the middle. But a straighter one from Rabada, one that was supposed to be driven down the ground, just got a little held up in the pitch and Rohit ended up splicing it.
The ball was in the air for a brief moment, and that was enough for Rabada to bend down in his follow through and complete a splendid catch to add to Rohit’s woes.
Twitter wasn’t impressed by Rohit’s performance and took a dig at him, yet again
