UFC welterweight fighter Belal Muhammad is one of the best in his weight division. On an eight-fight win streak, he is desperately waiting for a title shot. While it is unlikely to see him fight for the title anytime soon because Leon Edwards will most likely fight Kamaru Usman at UFC 286, Muhammad is keen on showing the world how capable he is.
Belal Muhammad recently took to Twitter where he taunted his former opponent and current welterweight champion Leon Edwards while he waits for a title shot.
How did Belal Muhammad taunt Leon Edwards with a picture of Muhammad Ali?
As mentioned earlier, Belal Muhammad took to Twitter in an attempt to take a dig at his former opponent, Leon Edwards. The UFC welterweight contender posted the iconic picture of Muhammad Ali standing while Sonny Liston was on the ground.

However, in the picture, he replaced Ali’s face with his own face, and Edwards’s face replaced Liston’s face. Moreover, he captioned the post by saying: “I’ll show you how great I am. ” It’s safe to say that Belal Muhammad wants to fight Leon Edwards and right his wrongs from their first fight back in 2021.
Did Leon Edwards beat Belal Muhammad?
The current UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad have quite the history. The two fought each other back in March 2021. It is worth noting that it was the first time Edwards’ was returning to the octagon after over two years of absence. However, the fight had a rather unfortunate ending.
In the second round of the fight, Edwards accidentally poked Muhammad’s eye and blood started to come out of it. As a result, the ring-side physician advised the official to stop the fight. As a result, the fight was stopped, and it was ruled as a no-contest because of an accidental eye poke.
Following the fight, it was even reported that the two will fight again. However, the rematch never happened and Leon Edwards went on to become the UFC welterweight champion. Meanwhile, Muhammad is ranked number 4 in the division.
