There has been a lot of speculation recently in the welterweight division of the UFC. The current champion Leon Edwards was set to make his first title defense against Kamaru Usman before the recent rumors of him stepping out due to injury broke out. However, all reports were put to bed by Kamaru Usman’s manager Ali Abdelaziz recently.
How Kamaru Usman’s manager shut speculation about Conor McGregor
As mentioned earlier, it was recently suggested that Kamaru Usman won’t be fighting Leon Edwards due to hand surgery. Moreover, several fans also speculated that Edwards might take on Conor McGregor instead. As the UFC might favor him skipping the line on his return.
However, all of the false speculations were put to bed by Usman’s manager who took to Twitter to fire back at the rumors. He said: “Please enough with the rumors, Kamaru is fighting León next, he is good to go. We bringing this belt back to where it belongs.”

Ali Abdelaziz has certainly made it known that Kamaru Usman vs Leon Edwards 3 will be going ahead as scheduled. And Usman is ready to bring the title back home with him.
Can Leon Edwards beat Kamaru Usman once again?
Leon Edwards shook the world last year when he defeated Kamaru Usman via knockout in the final round of their rematch. The fight was dominated by Usman up until the last moment. He was hit with a vicious head kick by the Englishman in the fifth round.
With the two now set for a trilogy bout later this year, there is no doubting Edwards’ ability. However, Kamaru Usman will most likely walk away with the victory. As he looked in full control of their fight last year as well. But he will need to be extra conscious this time around.
That said, the trilogy between Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards will certainly be a fight to look forward to. As it promises to be filled with fireworks from start to finish.
What are your thoughts on Ali Abdelaziz’s words? What do you guys think about the trilogy?
