3 Weeks Post USADA Deadline, Conor McGregor Touted to Fight Michael Chandler in December by Ex-UFC Star: “Dana White Knows…”
Despite his absence for over two years, the MMA community can’t get enough of Conor McGregor, the former UFC champion. Surprisingly, the Irishman knows how to keep himself in the spotlight with his Twitter shenanigans. McGregor is well-known for posting things on social media and then immediately deleting them. Having said that, a former UFC fighter turned analyst believes that one of McGregor’s deleted tweets indicates that he is competing this year.
It was stated earlier this year that ‘The Notorious’ has fully healed from his leg injury suffered in 2021 and is back in training. Not only that, but McGregor is expected to headline a pay-per-view later in December against Michael Chandler.
However, for McGregor to compete inside the cage in December, he must enter the USADA testing pool six months prior. Unfortunately, the Irishman missed the deadline, which was 16th June. But still, even after 3 weeks of missing it, former UFC star Brendan Schaub believes he is going to fight this December.
Brendan Schaub on Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler
While discussing the highly anticipated McGregor vs. Chandler bout on his Thicc Boy podcast, Brendan Schaub thoroughly looked at a video of Dana White discussing the fight.
While expressing his thoughts on the matter, Schaub seems to be sure that the bout will go place this year despite USADA restrictions. He also made fun of USADA in the episode. Talking about McGregor’s tweet, Schaub said:
“Connor tweeted this and deleted it. Someone asked him, I guess a fan asked him. Tell us when the fight with Chandler is. He posts an Emoji of Santa and then said December and then he deleted it. It’s Connor he’s fighting…Connor knows this Dana knows this USADA doesn’t know this. I guarantee you he kind of knows all right I’m fighting in December. He knows he can just trump USADA and go- he’s fighting and hey, we’re all gonna watch. I’ll say it so f*** you USADA. How about that, yeah!”
It is also worth noting that this bout has the full support of UFC President Dana White. As a result, Schaub’s statements are quite likely to come true.
What did Dana White say about McGregor vs. Chandler?
Conor McGregor is one of the UFC’s one million stars. He attracts a large audience and generates significant revenue for the business. As a result, it’s understandable that he’s the company’s favorite.
In light of this, the organization has frequently favored McGregor, even cutting the line for a championship match. As a result, it is safe to assume that they will make an exception for the Irishman.
During an interview, Dana White claimed that he wasn’t particularly concerned about USADA. In fact, he stated that he is not concerned about future events and is instead focused on the current bouts. He did, however, clarify that McGregor will compete this year. As a result, we must wait and watch what the UFC does with McGregor.
