Elon Musk

South African billionaire Elon Musk purchased the well-known social media network, Twitter, last year. He purchased the platform in an effort to increase the freedom of speech. Musk even let go of a number of longtime workers and altered Twitter’s policies. He has, however, faced a lot of criticism for his actions. Paying a monthly charge for a blue tick was one of the policies that many people found annoying. The bulk of celebrity profiles on Twitter had their blue ticks removed by the end of April.

However, some accounts that have a regular following or more than a million followers continue to somehow have a blue tick. It has irked a former UFC title challenger that the same accounts are flaunting it on the platform.

Ex-UFC star mocks celebrities for flaunting their blue tick, hinting Elon Musk was involved

Elon Musk earlier revealed that no account will be verified without a subscription. Furthermore, the accounts that pay for the blue tick subscriptions will have more reach and get access to some exclusive features.

However, several accounts have reported that they still have their blue tick even though they haven’t paid for it. Thus, former UFC middleweight title challenger Chael Sonnen blasted such celebrity accounts for hinting that Elon Musk had something to do with it.

While replying to a famous American stand-up comedian, Bert Kreischer, Sonnen wrote, “How about all these quasi-celebrities who feel the need to TWEET that they have a blue checkmark, but did not pay for it. Their goal to act confused, while actually bragging and hinting Elon personally did something for them, is very transparent and equally as annoying as they are.”

Sonnen never hesitates to speak his mind on such topics. Similarly, he talked about one of the biggest upcoming bouts between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.

Chael Sonnen doubts Michael Chandler vs. Conor McGregor will happen

Earlier this year it was announced that Conor McGregor will return to UFC and headline a pay-per-view against Michael Chandler later this year. The two have even finished shooting for the upcoming TUF season.

However, because of the little information shared by the promotion on the bout UFC legend, Chael Sonnen is doubtful about the McGregor vs. Chandler happening. In a recent YouTube video, Sonnen talked about it extensively.

The former UFC title challenger raised valid questions. UFC is yet to announce the date, weight class, venue, and more about the bout. Therefore, Sonnen feels weird about the mega-fight, despite Dana White and UFC’s interest in the fight.

What are your thoughts about the match-up? What do you guys think about Sonnen blasting the celebrities?
