Dustin Poirier’s UFC 257 performance impressed Joe Rogan. The broadcaster thinks, the Diamond is the uncrowned champion of the Lightweight division.
With an incredible performance against Conor McGregor at UFC 257, Dustin Poirier has done the unprecedented and in-process became the undisputed No.1 contender for the Lightweight title. While it is a matter of discussion as to who should Poirier face in the title match but, according to a few analysts there is no need for a title showdown.

The reigning uncertainty around Khabib Nurmagomedov’s future is still at large and hence there are loud callings on the vacant nature of the UFC Lightweight championship. Moreover, after what transpired at UFC 257 there is a sense of realization among MMA enthusiasts that Dustin should be given the helm of the division. This very belief is prevalent in the mind of Joe Rogan as well.
The premier voice of the sport pushed Dustin Poirier’s name for the title in the aftermath of UFC 257.

Joe Rogan Lauds Dustin Poirier
Joe Rogan, who has been associated with UFC for over 2 decades, has closely seen the make and break of the promotion’s biggest champions. The 53-year-old though was not present inside the Etihad arena on January 23 but, upon noticing what took place at the main event of UFC 257, the popular broadcaster is convinced that Dustin Poirier is an “uncrowned champion.”
Following the culmination of UFC 257, Rogan took to Instagram to express his views on Dustin Poirier’s TKO victory over Conor McGregor.
He wrote: A tremendous congratulations to Dustin Poirier for his spectacular victory last night. At 155 he is absolutely one of the most fierce fighters on earth. And if Khabib really is retired for my money Dustin is the uncrowned champ!

So, Joe Rogan has placed Dustin Poirier behind Khabib Nurmagomedov in the queue, and since there is no encouraging update about Khabib’s comeback, the queue may not exist. And if it is the case then Dustin Poirier has the backing of a prominent figure to become the next UFC Lightweight champion.
