Ben Askren Gives an Update about whether the boxing match with Jake Paul is still on the cards.
If one has to sum up 2020 in one sentence, then a statement like “Jack Paul emerged in the boxing scene and further challenged former and present UFC professionals,” can make through the cut. However, it is not the context, the subject is, the status of his challenges. Is there any update?
The popular YouTuber who apparently made a resounding impact after defeating former basketball player Nate Robinson in a professional boxing bout in November is seemingly high on confidence and has since made headlines by going after Conor McGregor, falling out on social media with Michael Bisping, throwing water balloons at his friend Dillon Dannis, and also forwarding a challenge to former Bellator Welterweight champion Ben Askren.

Ben Askren posts an update about the potential boxing match with Jake Paul
Askren, who publicly accepted the challenge of Paul last week via Twitter, has used the platform again in the corresponding week to share an update about the supposed boxing match.

So let me give you a little recap of the situation. I’m retired, coaching wrestling, doing some podcasts, buying some Bitcoin, enjoying life. I don’t really wanna fight anybody.
“So in November, this jabroni Jake Paul calls me out, puts up a poster with my name, haha it’s kinda funny. Whatever, right? No big deal.
“Well then, a couple of weeks later, I get a couple of texts, and a week after that I get some calls and I get an offer. Okay, this guy really wants to fight. Am I opposed to making some easy money? Beating up a YouTuber? Of course, I’m not.
“So what do I do? ‘Sure, Jacob, I’ll fight you.’ No problem. I accept publicly on Twitter, nonetheless. Since then Jacob has gone silent. Jacob is kind of a coward. Sorry guys, I don’t think the fight is happening.”
If the match materializes then based on the preliminary showcase of odds, surprisingly, Jake Paul will enter as the favorite over the individual who has more than 10 years of experience in combat sports. Moreover, the president of Bellator, Scott Coker also drew the inference that Jake will knockout Ben.
However, barring the win/loss debate, the financial benefit that the fight will offer will apparently fill pockets of both the persons of interest.
