Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns are booked to face each other on December 12. The two were earlier set to meet at UFC 251.
UFC has disclosed its plans for UFC 256, and the main event is officially set, which will feature Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns for the UFC Welterweight Championship. This fight was initially on the posters of UFC 251, but could not make it to the fight night, as a week before the event, Burns was found Covid-19 positive. The main event of 251, however did went into motion with Jorge Masvidal. Masvidal, against all odds made himself eligible to fight on 6 days’ notice, but was unsuccessful in winning the title strap.

Gilbert Burns Recovered
Weeks afterwards, Gilbert Burns recovered from the deadly virus, and made his intentions clear that he will continue from where he left off.

Durinho got his assurance of a future title shot from Dana White himself. However, after UFC 251 (July), Kamaru Usman went on a 180-day medical suspension, and wasn’t expected to set foot in the ring in 2020, but UFC indeed scheduled the fixture for December 12, 2020.
UFC 256: Kamaru Usman Vs. Gilbert Burns
Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns, were expected to produce a spectacle for the fans at UFC 251, and the bout will garner similar expectations for UFC 256. Both the fighters have an immaculate record to showcase (Usman: 17-1. Burns: 19-3), and the fight will pick up steam in the coming weeks/months, to ultimately shoot fireworks on December 12. But, till then let’s hope the Pandemic does not intervene this time.
