Valorant maps are taking turns leaving the game and this time, Icebox will be the map. Previously, we saw Split take a huge break before returning. Now it is going to be Icebox. Now Icebox has been detrimental in lots of competitive games including Professional Valorant. However, the map needs a little more rework and some space has to be made for the returning Bind.
Let us take a look at everything we know so far about Icebox leaving and Bind making a comeback.
Icebox to Leave Valorant Competitive and Unrated to Make Way for Bind
We have good news for people who like the Bind map. It is not only making a comeback in the game but it also has lots of new changes to offer that will balance itself out. We have covered ALL of the Bind changes in this article, so you can check it out for yourself. It documents how certain angles can change the flow of the round.
Now, Icebox is leaving the map pool on Patch 6.08. But the Bind changes will be integrated into patch 6.07 to help people prepare. For Icebox fans, we do not have a concrete timeline on when the map is going to make a return. However, if the absence of Bind is an indication, it can easily be at least one or two months before anyone sees Icebox again, at least in the competitive queue.
We cannot confirm if the map will have any changes when it does get back but if the previous maps like Bind and Split are an indication, we can expect some soft changes. In addition, all the VCT leagues are in full swing so we do not know how these matches are going to affect them. For the most part, we will only see the teams play in a prior patch but we might see a change for Masters.
