RCB's probable XI against DD

Virat Kohli was a content man after the AB de Villiers show at the Chinnaswamy stadium, beaming with confidence and satisfaction, as RCB registered their second win of the IPL campaign.

The bowlers tried to set it up for RCB in the powerplay, but an inspired partnership between Pant and Iyer meant that DD managed to post an above average score on a surface that was spinning and gripping.

Mandeep and QDK departed early in the chase, and that brought together two of the best in the world.

Kohli was forced off the field as Trent Boult managed to pull off one of the catches of the tournament.

It was all about ABD then, as he smoked the ball to all parts of the ground, taking RCB over the line for their 2nd win of the campaign.

“The guy (AB) in our team gives us plenty of reasons to smile. We understand situations, understand each other’s games well. He started off in a great way, my job then became to stick it out, string in a 65-70 run partnership.

“And then the opposition know they have to protect the game, rather than going for a win. It was a pity I couldn’t stay till the end, but Corey and Mandy did really well to support him.

“They kept taking singles with positive intent and that is great to see. But AB just keeps taking the game away and that’s why there’s no doubt why he’s the best player in the world.” Kohli said.

RCB will take great heart from this win, as it will help them build some momentum leading to the playoffs.
