Virat Kohli records: theSportsRush takes a look at 5 records which Virat Kohli has broken recently.

The king. The Conqueror. The run machine. The GOAT.

Virat Kohli today has reached such level of greatness very few can even think of. People all over the world are searching for adjectives to describe what has already been a legendary career.

Virat Kohli celebrates his 30th birthday today. So it is only fair to acknowledge some records created by the modern-day master.

  1. Highest ICC points – The record which was once held by Sachin Tendulkar with a total of 889 points in the year 1997 was surpassed by Virat Kohli with a tally of 899 points. He reached this tally after the Newzelend series at home. Where he made two centuries in a three-match series.

  1. Most wins as the Indian captain- Kohli holds the record for the most consecutive wins as the Indian captain- 10 in a row. The record was created last year when India won the lone test match against Sri Lanka. Whitewashed them in the 5 ODI’s and the 3 t20’s. And annihilated Australia at home in the 1st ODI.
  1. Fastest to 10,000 ODI Runs- Virat is the fastest cricketer to reach 10,000 ODI runs. All he took was 205 innings to reach this landmark. What is more staggering is that he just took 11 innings to go from the 9000 runs to the 10,000 landmark. The next quickest was the master-blaster himself who took 259 innings to reach the landmark.
  1. Most double centuries as Indians test captain- Before the start of the test series against west indies in 2016, the most talked about affair was the lack of double ton in Virat Kohli’s heavy run kitty. Little did anyone know that not only he would make his maiden test double ton in the series but also the next 3 series thereafter. Virat Kohli has the most double hundreds in test cricket as the Indian captain.
  1. Most centuries as the visiting batsmen in South Africa- Before the start of the series Virat Kohli had no ODI centuries in South Africa. Well, he finished the series with being the most successful visiting batsmen with 3 centuries in South Africa(On par Kevin Peterson)

Is there anything that this guy cannot do? Well, if Virat continues to play the way he’s playing more records will be created and smashed.

After all, he indeed is the GOAT.
