Indian skipper Virat Kohli who has been rested for Sri Lanka ODI series is uncertain to play even the T20I series as well. Rohit Sharma will skipper India for the upcoming ODI series in Virat Kohli’s absence.

Virat Kohli said that he will come to a point on his chances of making the cut after consulting the team management and the selection committee in the days to come.

India’s T20I squad for Sri Lanka hasn’t been announced yet because the decision on Kohli’s participation is undecided. He said that he needs some time to make the move whether he will get into the scheme of things for the T20I series or not.

“Virat has told the selectors that he needs some time to take a call on whether he will be playing the T20s or not. That’s the reason why they have not announced the T20 squad,” a BCCI official told PTI.

A top BCCI official told that Virat Kohli has some personal commitments until 12th of next month. He added saying that Kohli will take the call post his personal works.

“Virat has some personal commitments till December 12. Post that, whether he would like to take rest or just play T20s will be his call completely,” he added.

India will play three T20Is against Sri Lanka. The first one is scheduled to be played on December 20 at Cuttack, the second one at Indore and the third one at Visakhapatnam.
