After losing three quick wickets last night, India were in big trouble heading into the second day of the first test match in Cape Town.

In the morning session, Rohit and Pujara tried to block every ball they faced, as they to survive, rather than score runs in the opening hour.
But that did not do India any good, as the pressure just kept on increasing until the South African bowlers finally broke through their defence.
Ashwin and Saha soon followed thereafter, to leave India tottering at 92/7. But then Hardik Pandya launched a stunning counter attack, as he combined caution with bravado, and took the attack to the South Africans.
He was given great support by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, as the pair put on 99 invaluable runs for the eight wicket. But after Bhuvi’s dismissal, the other two bowlers could not give much support to Pandya, as the all-rounder got dismissed after making a stunning 93.
Fans and pundits alike were disappointed to see him fall just seven short of a century, as Pandya truly did deserve to reach the three figure mark.
Pandya was not done though, as he picked up two crucial wickets before the end of day’s play to keep India in the hunt. He got rid of both the South African openers, as Hardik put on an outstanding all-round display to keep India’s dreams of winning this test match alive.
Indian legend Virender Sehwag had some wonderful things to say about Pandya, as he sent a wonderful message to the all-rounder on Twitter.
Intent makes such a big difference. So proud of Hardik for a really special counter-attacking innings.
Hope the bowlers do something special in the second innings.#SAvIND— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) January 6, 2018
Let’s hope Pandya continues his magic on day three!
