With RCB needing two wins out of two, the onus was always going to be on Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers to take Bangalore through.
Virat and ABd had predominantly batted at number 3 and 4 in the tournament, however, Virat wanted the duo to take more responsibility today and bat higher up so as to set the pace of the game.
RCB were put into bat by SRH and Kohli and co. now had to set a total in this must-win game at this chasing friendly ground.
Parthiv Patel departed early, and that brought together Kohli and ABD in the middle. The Bangalore crowd held their breath as they desperately wanted their two heroes to set the ball rolling.
Kohli however played a rash shot against the wily Rashid Khan and ended up losing his pole.
It was now time for ABD to do it all on his own, or at least that is what all of us thought. However, Moeen Ali took a lot of pressure off ABD by tonking a few sixes and getting to wonderful half century himself.
But the highlight of the first innings was that humongous six from ABD over fine leg that went out the Chinnaswamy.
Basil Thampi was cranking up some serious pace and bowled a full toss at the stumps. ABD , who was ready for such a ball, walked across and thumped the ball over the fine boundary for a 105 metre six.

After ABD and Moeen Ali’s departure, RCB have gone along their business beautifully, as CDG has teed off big time.
