Watch: Australia Test captain Tim Paine scores a perfect three-pointer from half-pitch; amazes the Basketball crowd in Tasmania

While the Australian men’s Cricket team is busy with their preparations for the imminent ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England, their Test team captain- Tim Paine, has shown some sparks of brilliance back home. Not in the game of Cricket, but Basketball!

The ‘accidental’ captain of the Australian Test side, Paine was handed over his side’s captaincy post the ball-tampering saga, which handed the then captain, Steve Smith a 1-year ban from International Cricket. Smith was recently booed by the English fans during Australia’s first Warm-up game against England on Saturday.
The 34-year-old is enjoying a vacation break before the arduous Ashes journey beckoning him ahead, where he will be expected to lead his side in the month of August.
Paine nails the three-pointer
An ardent fan of the New Zealand National Basketball League, Paine Tim Paine was seen supporting the Southern Huskies in the same. He is also the number one ticket holder of the Southern Huskies.
After the end of the first-half, the wicket-keeper-batsman from Tasmania geared himself up with the aim to score a three-pointer from half-field. To the cheering crowd’s amazement, the Tasmanian nailed the three-pointer shot with consummate perfection, that too from the half-court. The reaction from the crowd, asserted that they were certainly not expecting Tim Paine- the cricketer to shoot the basket.
But this was not it. Paine after scoring the three-pointer, also attempted a one-handed three-quarter court shot amidst continuous cheers from the stands. But unfortunately for him, he missed his second by just a fraction.
