During the sixth match of the ongoing fifth season of the Pakistan Super League between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators in Karachi, Quetta Gladiators defeated Karachi Kings on the back of an 85-run partnership for the fourth wicket between captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and batsman Azam Khan.
Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the eighth over, Ahmed remained unbeaten to score 37* (28) with the help of two fours and a six playing the anchor role as his team won with an over to spare.
However, it was 21-year old Azam Khan whose swift innings eased the nerves after Gladiators were restricted to 55/3 in the ninth over. Before getting out in the 18th over, Azam scored 46 (30) on the back of scoring a match-winning 59 (33) against Islamabad United in the season opener.

Son of former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Moin Khan, Azam was being severely criticized for his weight ahead of the tournament. Having scored 110 runs in three matches at a strike rate of 152.77, Azam is currently the fourth-highest run-scorer in the tournament.
A video of Azam from the last match is doing the rounds on social media platform Twitter. The right-hand batsman is seen running with an inverted bat while trying to reach to the crease. While some fans are speculating it as a tactical move, one believes it was done by mistake from the Quetta batsman.
Having won two out of the three matches that they have played so far, Quetta are at the second position in the points table at this point in time.
