Bumrah bowls a peach to Paine

Bumrah bowls a peach to Paine: The Indian fast bowler bowled an unplayable delivery to the Australian captain.

During the first day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Perth, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was seen bowling an unplayable delivery to Australia captain Tim Paine.

Apart from the batsman getting beaten all ends up, the delivery saw India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant also getting beaten. While he could not even lay fingers on the ball, it ended up going for a boundary.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the 84th over when Bumrah’s full length delivery perhaps hit a crack only to first open up Paine and then go over the wicket-keeper’s head. The fact that full length deliveries don’t fly over the wicket-keeper is what makes this ball a jaffa.

Once the ball touched the boundary ropes, it took a few seconds for everyone to realize what had happened. While the bowler and the batsman didn’t exchange many words after the delivery, them watching each other with the expressions on their faces spoke highly about what had happened.

After Paine won the toss and chose to bat, the Australian opening batsmen stitched a 112-run partnership. Australia gave the impression of posting a dominating total at that point in time, but it didn’t happen eventually as the Indian bowlers made inroads into their batting line-up in the subsequent sessions.
