Chris Gayle has set the IPL on fire this time round, essentially ‘saving it’ by gracing the tournament and using his long-handle to good effect early on in the event.

Having gone unsold in two rounds of the auction, Kings XI finally decided to pick the Universe Boss, mainly for marketing purposes maybe, but he has come into his own in the IPL, scoring a 100 and two fifties in the 3 games that he has played.

He was left out of the last game due to a sore body, but was drafted in for this game and has provided the fans with some entertainment without even holding the bat.

The incident happened in the 6th over of the innings, when Barinder Sran had dismissed Shakib Al Hasan, only to have overstepped, but the break in play allowed KL Rahul to go to the dressing room for a bathroom break maybe, handing over his gloves to Chris Gayle in the meantime.

After the umpire consulted the third umpire for the overstepping, the cameras turned to Chris Gayle who had the gloves in his hands and was mimicking a wicketkeeper on the field.

KL Rahul then ran back to the field and took the gloves away from Chris Gayle, much to the dismay of the crowd.

Match Situation

Kings XI have put up a brilliant bowling display coupled with some shambolic fielding. However, SRH have not really capitalised as they have managed to just manage 130 odd in the end.

Manish Pandey has been the lone warrior for SRH, but has been aided by 3 dropped catches in the course of his innings.

Can KXIP chase it down?
