When Liberty Media decided to get F1 a new theme song, the decision had been met with some apprehension from the fans, as many believed that the ‘Americanising’ of the sport would end up diluting the brand in the long run.
However, when Brian Tyler was roped in, the apprehensions were mellowed down a little, as everyone was aware of the brilliant work that Tyler had done with the music of Ironman, Avengers and Fast and the Furious.
Fans waited with bated breath for the theme song to be released and within a month, the song had gotten onto the lips of almost every F1 fan, providing them with that much needed adrenaline rush right before the start of the grand prix.
The theme music brilliantly encompassed the essence of the sport, bringing in the roar of the engines and capturing the drama behind an exciting weekend with a very engaging tune.
Now, while you might have enjoyed the theme music only on race weekends, it sounds way better when performed live.
Brian Tyler , the good man that he is, released a version of him performing the theme music live and it is sure to give you goosebumps.
Tyler performed the theme music as he wanted to thank F1 for giving him the opportunity to compose its theme music and in order to commemorate such a brilliant 2018 season.
He had a special message for Hamilton and Alonso too.
“Presenting my complete Formula 1 Theme that I conducted live in concert to commemorate an amazing F1 season. Thank you F1 for having be be a part of it!” he said.
“Congrats Lewis Hamilton on a brilliant championship & Gracias Fernando for years of greatness!” he added.

I’m with Will on this one. I think it’s great and is already part of our lives at F1 races. You hear it now and then and find yourself humming along to it…

I got so many chills watching this, the classical musician in me absolutely in awe at the size of that orchestra

I love Brian’s control and command of them. It’s like he’s dancing and conducting all at once.

It adds to the entertainment and intensity of the performance. You can see in his facial expression and body language the passion for his work and what he does

Was a bit skeptical first I heard it, but when hearing it as part of the race transmission, it quickly became clear how well it works, so great work, and thanks for improving my enjoyment of #F1.

Whooo I’m literally speechless and breathless after hearing the F1 theme in this amazing version and holy moly the strenght it has: this is the version they should broadcast before every GP. If they did it would add at least 100 BHPs to every car. Is there an MP3 version to DL?
