WATCH: Hardik Pandya gets AB de Villiers for the 2nd time in two matches
Hardik Pandya has had a dismal ODI series with the bat, unable to construct an innings when sent in at number 5 and failing to launch during the death overs as well.
Pandya’s batting position and ability has been the talk of the town ever since the 1st ODI, and the Indian team management haven’t quite figured it out, but Pandya the bowler has improved by leaps and bounds in the last two ODI’s.
With Bhuvi and Bumrah not able to provide the initial breakthroughs, the onus was on Pandya to keep the runs at bay, and help the wrist spinners spin their web around the South African batsman.
Pandya, though, did more than expected, getting Duminy and ABD within the space of two overs to peg the South Africans back.
Pandya got one to seam from a length to catch Duminy off guard, as he ended up edging it to Rohit Sharma at a third slip position.
But the big fish came in Pandya’s second over, as AB de Villiers tried to carve one through the covers, but ended up edging it to Dhoni, who gleefully accepted the catch to put India right on top in the 5th ODI.
Virat Kohli as usual broke into his extravagant celebrations, signalling towards the dressing room.

Match Situation
With Duminy and ABD gone, India are now in the drivers seat. Kuldeep and Chahal will now operate in tandem and should be able suffocate the South African batsmen on this sluggish Port Elizabeth surface.
