It has been a huge second session for India, as Bumrah and Pandya got the crucial wickets of AB de Villiers and du Plessis in quick succession.
After a stunning start to the day, the experienced duo of ABD and Faf started counter attacking the Indian bowlers, with AB in particular looking in brilliant touch.
Earlier in the day, there was a huge surprise when India’s starting XI was announced, as Rahane and Ishant were dropped in favour of Rohit and Pandya. Pundits and fans were shocked, as they felt that it was far too bold a move to make in the first test of a huge tour.
Then with ball in hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar decided to make a huge impact in his first over of the tour, as he knocked over Dean Elgar with just his third delivery.
Kumar then snapped up both Markram and Amla, as he quickly gave India the upper hand in the first session. But that is when AB and Faf decided to wrest the initiative away from the Indian bowlers.
But things started to change after the lunch break, as Jasprit Bumrah got the prized scalp of AB de Villiers. The South African champion was indecisive in his shot selection, as he got an inside edge which crashed into his stumps.
Then Pandya got the big wicket of du Plessis, as the South African nicked a ball into Saha’s waiting hands.
Kohli was pumped after getting his opposite number out, as the fiery Indian captain apparently said a few things that Faf did not appreciate.
