India and Pakistan Cricket team fans indulge in merry-making together after Pakistan’s victory against Kiwis at Edgbaston, Birmingham

Pakistan toppled one of the two unbeaten sides in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019- New Zealand by 6 wickets at Edgbaston, Birmingham to inhale  significant amount of a fresh air of relief, in keeping their chances to qualify for the semi-final race alive.

While the Cricketing fraternity is busy flooding the debates and discussions pertaining the uncanny semblance of Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup campaign to the ongoing one, in an another rare of the rarest moments, a video of an India and Pakistan fan celebrating the Men in Green’s victory over the Black Caps is doing rounds on the social media.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan had to win the draw against the formidable New Zealand side (who were undefeated in the tournament so far) to stay in contention for qualifying in the Top-4 of the marquee event. The Pakistan team, who faced the worst of backlash from their ever emotional fans back home, were in all praise and exhilaration after their team’s victory on Wednesday, and even an Indian fan made sure that he joins the party as well.

How did the India- Pakistan fan celebrate?

How the fierce rivalry between India and Pakistan pertaining to a Cricket match gets personal is a not a new thing. The hatred and malice between the neighbour countries have not taken a step back, even a tad inch due to the never ending political tensions between the two nations.

But, a video which is apparently doing quite some round on social media, is a rare moment of love and celebration  where fans from both the nations were on the same page.

The Pakistani fans were singing and dancing with all joy and ecstasy, after their team, courtesy a brilliant century under pressure from Babar Azam (101 off 127) won their knock-out match against the Kiwis with five balls to spare.

To join the party, an Indian fan too started dancing alongside one of the Pakistani fan, and the beautiful and rare moment with the drums making the deafening sound in the backdrop, was captured by the Pakistani cricket statistician Mazher Arshad. The Pakistan fan too, shrugging off all the enmity and possible hatred danced hand-in-hand with his across the border friend (at least for the time-being).
