Indian team celebrates series win against Australia: The Indian cricket team was seen receiving a warm welcome in their hotel.
The 2-1 series victory has come as a great respite for the Indian cricketers for it is the first time that they have won a Test series in Australia. The fact that no Asian team has ever won a Test series in Australia speaks about how daunting the task is.
It has taken India 72 years to register a series win in Australia. Therefore, the celebrations are bound to happen. Talking about the same during the post-match presentation ceremony, India captain Virat Kohli had hinted regarding celebrations ‘running long’.
“We all deserve to enjoy. The celebrations, I assure you, will run long. The boys are physically and mentally drained, and we have no more alarm clocks in the morning,” Kohli had said about celebrating after India achieved the milestone under him.
Minutes after Kohli said this, the Indian players started their celebrations on the ground itself. What followed was both an intriguing and amusing dance form. The players were seen performing the ‘Pujara Dance‘, which originated from India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant.
Upon reaching the team hotel, India received a warm welcome by members of the Bharat Army, India’s official fan group. The nearly three-minute long video saw the Indian players dancing on evergreen Hindi songs such ‘Yeh Mera Dil Pyaar Ka Deewana’, ‘Mere Desh Ki Dharti’ and others.
The sight of Kohli doing the Naagin Dance in the video is expected to go viral on the social media. Watch the full video below:
