The Indian U-16 team took on Palestine in the AFC U-16 Qualifiers today, beginning their campaign on a high, as the Indian colts romped to a comprehensive 3-0 win.

Givson Singh Moirangthem opened the scoring for India, curling in a beautiful free-kick in the 52nd minute, and it was all India after that.

The Indian contingent was on the front foot all through the second half, piling up sea of attacks and not letting the Palestine team settle into any sort of offensive rhythm.

India kept knocking on the door but just couldn’t find a way through, until Bekey Oram scored a fine header to give India that much needed one goal cushion.

A 2-0 scoreline was good enough but the Indian colts wanted more and kept pushing forward.

Captain, Vikram Pratap put the result beyond doubt when he slotted in a beautiful finish, following a beautiful build up constructed by the Indian forward line.

The Indian team would be high on spirits after a brilliant start and would be hoping to continue their good form against Nepal on Friday at the same venue.

The footballing revolution in India is on the rise and with the U-17 FIFA World Cup to be held in India next month, it seems like football could take over the Indian sporting fraternity in the years to come.
