WATCH: Josh Inglis ramps Nathan Ellis for spectacular six over wicket-keeper's head

Josh Inglis ramps Nathan Ellis: The Scorchers’ wicket-keeper batsman played well for his fourth T20 half-century in Hobart.

During the 36th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers in Hobart, Perth Scorchers opening batsman Josh Inglis’ fourth T20 half-century played a pivotal role in the visitors scoring 175/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

Opening the batting with Liam Livingstone (3), Inglis took the onus on himself after Perth two early wickets. Inglis shared a 109-run partnership for the third wicket alongside captain Mitchell Marsh (40) to put his team back on track.

It was on the fourth delivery of the 12th over when Inglis swept a delivery from Hobart spinner Qais Ahmad to cross the 50-run mark. The highlight of his innings came on the third delivery of the following over when he bravely ramped Hobart seamer Nathan Ellis for a spectacular six over wicket-keeper Ben McDermott’s head.

Before getting out to Ahmad in the 16th over, Inglis ended up scoring 73 (46) with the help of four fours and four sixes.

Inglis’ playing such a knock was necessary after Hurricanes captain Matthew Wade won the toss and invited the visitors in to bat. With bowling figures of 4-0-30-2, Tom Rogers was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts.
