Liverpool have won the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea tonight. The victory though, has come with the narrowest of margins. The Reds sneaked past the London side in the Penalty shoot-outs after the match ended 2-2 after 120 minutes of play. However, without the brilliance of Kepa, the match may not have even gone to the shootouts.

With the game hanging in the balance, Liverpool hunted for that winning goal. With the ball firmly in Chelsea’s penalty area, the Blues ran the risk of conceding a goal. However, their goalie Kepa had other ideas.
Mohammed Salah deflected a corner towards the goal, which was pushed away by Kepa. The danger was far from over though. The ball had deflected to Virgil Van Dijk who flicked the ball towards the ball. The Spaniard Shot stopper however, quickly got on his feet and brushed the attempt away.
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta came rushing towards the keeper and praised him for the astonishing save.

In the end though, Liverpool finally found that winning goal. That takes nothing from Kepa however, who had a phenomenal showing. Liverpool have obviously got the trophy but for Chelsea? They have found redemption after the abject showing at Old Trafford last weekend.
To push the European Champions to the last minute of the match is proof that Chelsea, under Lampard is very much in the top 4 race and all Premier League teams now will keep an eye out for them.
