Watch: Kieron Pollard's bizarre catch drop saves Shivam Dube from losing wicket

Watch: Kieron Pollard’s bizarre catch drop in the deep saves Shivam Dube from losing his wicket in the second T20I match at Trivandrum.

India and West Indies had a great match in the second T20I match at Trivandrum. Although, the men in blue lost the match by 8 wickets they still showed a decent fight on the pitch.

Amidst all of this, a bizarre scene on the pitch left everyone in splits after rounds of heavy laughter and at the same time, it was also awkward to look at.

During India’s innings in the match, young batsman Shivam Dube was having a promising knock when he hit a straight hit towards the deep. His shot was not strong enough to pass the boundary and was in the good reach of Kieron Pollard who was fielding over there.

However, surprisingly Pollard was probably illusioned by something in between or was rather slipped, but the veteran West Indian cricketer turned his face in the opposite direction and landed on his knees while the ball passed the boundary line.

It was rather something unexpected from the West Indian but the reason behind his act is still mysterious. Meanwhile, the Indian players in dugout were initially struck with horror as they anticipated that Pollard will grab the catch but soon they filled with joy giving less attention to Pollard’s bizarre act.

This cath drop saved Dube and he went on to make his half-century. Nevertheless, it hardly managed to help India, as West Indies dominated India in the chase. The Carrebiens reached the target with last 9 balls remaining and lost only two wickets in the process.

India will next play against West Indies in the last T20I match of the series at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The game at the renowned stadium will determine the outcome of the T20I series.
