WATCH: Kyle Kuzma literally pushes LeBron James to play some defense vs Clippers

With every passing game, the fans of Los Angeles Lakers fans’ blood pressure keeps shooting up. Over the past 12 games Lakers have gone 4-8 in what was supposedly the easiest part of their schedule. All the while, they were pretending to still care about making the playoffs. Well that ship has now well and truly sailed. The Lakers season is over where the last few games left, should be used to give more playing time to the young fringe players like Isac Bonga and Moritz Wagner.

The end of post season hopes came ironically in a 113-105 loss against the Clippers, who were supposed to be tanking after sending Tobias Harris to the Sixers before the trade deadline.

Lakers played without their best player, not LeBron, Brandon Ingram who had a mysterious shoulder injury that he woke up with this morning. Clippers on one side of LA have an extremely competitive team with a long bench, cap space to sign two max players over the summer and a treasure trove of assets to trade for players to fill around the max players.

While on the other hand Lakers, despite LeBron, are not going to make playoffs, don’t look like favorites to sign any of the top free agents and have a bunch of one year rentals who will no longer be a part of the team next year, but keep playing at a time when young Lakers could be getting valuable experience.

The Lakers really need to accept reality and shut down their season. This experience of terrible basketball night in night out is helping no one. The young players are getting no experience. The fans are watching in annoyed frustrations and older players are being pushed around.

Yes, LeBron James was pushed into defending Gallinari with the game on the line, by Kyle Kuzma. Thats what this season has come to.

I mean, even as a fan it is becoming pretty funny to watch this Lakers team do the stupidest of things on the court. LeBron has had his defense criticized a lot this season and recently said he was going to step it up and anyone who thought it was easy to score against him should come at him and see what happens. Well, they found a better way. Don’t come at LeBron on defense and he wont come to you.

Unless Kuzma pushes LeBron at the players to get him to defend them. The same Kuzma that was supposed to be the defensive liability. HAS to push LeBron to get him to play defense.

If the Dwightmare Lakers hadn’t been considered favorites to win the league back in 2012, this would’ve been the worst season expectations wise, in the recent memory. Good job Magic-Pelinka. Good job.

LeBron James and the Lakers will now need to dig deep, get back to the drawing board and figure a way out of this slump. They would also need help from the Clippers, Kings and the Spurs, as these teams are in contention for those final 2 playoff spots in the Western conference.

Lakers currently sit in 10th spot in the West and have a very slim chance of making it to the playoffs. However, funnier things have happened in the sport and Lakers would not be ruling out a historic comeback to somehow scrape into the playoffs.

But as of now, with the kind of offense and defense that the team is playing, you wouldn’t want to put your money on Lakers making it to the playoffs.

The Lakers welcome the Nuggets in town for the next game and it will be interesting to see if they can stem this 3 game losing streak and get back in playoff contention once again.
