WATCH : Lionel Messi scores his 100th European goal with a beautiful free kick
In what was a tough match against Olympiacos Lionel Messi, as he so often does, provided the inspiration as Barcelona eventually beat the Greek side 3-1.
Leo Messi scored his 100th goal in European competition through a scintillating free kick special which was his first and only goal in this match and Barcelona’s second of the three.

The Argentine Maestro scored a stunning free kick,that curled over the wall and hit the back of the net, increasing Barcelona’s lead to 2-0 despite being reduced to 10 men after Gerard Pique’s red card.
Lucas Digne scored another one shortly afterwards but the moment of the match was surely Leo Messi’s 100th goal in European Competition.

Messi becomes the only player after Cristiano Ronaldo to score 100 goals in European Competitions. The star player from Real Madrid has scored 113 goals till now in all European Competitions.
Ronaldo also has 110 in Champion’s League alone compared to Leo Messi’s 97. Although Ronaldo has played more matches (143) as compared to Leo’s 118 (excluding Qualifiers).
