Watch the video of Romelu Lukaku scoring the winner against Southampton in a cracker of a game.
Manchester United and Southampton played out a cracker of a game as the Red Devils came away as 3-2 winners at the end. It was the visitors who opened the scoring through their young full-back Yan Valery who smashed the back of the net to give no chance for David De Gea to get near the ball in the 16th minute.
For the rest of the game, the Saints defended well and kept the hosts in the check. However, in the second half, the game turned upside down as the Brazilian midfielder Andreas Periera launched one from outside the box to equalize the score. Striker for the night, Romelu Lukaku scored a very good goal to lead in the 59th minute.
Southampton’s free-kick specialist James Word-Prowse scored a spectacular free kick to level parity fifteen minutes before the full-time whistle. However, Romelu Lukaku scored a cracker from outside the box to lead the game in the dying moments of the game.
Marcus Rashford won a penalty, but the spot kick was not converted by the rejuvenated Paul Pogba whose penalty was too tame. It was a deserved victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men for that scintillating display in the second half to turn the game upside down.
On the other hand, Ralph Hussenhuttl will take plenty of positives from the game today as the Saints went toe-to-toe to produce an exhilarating contest. The Red Devils capitalized well with Arsenal’s early slip up to climb fourth in the Premier League table. Southampton are still stuck in the relegation zone after suffering this defeat.

It was a difficult technique to execute, but the Belgian made it so easy to turn totally and score past Gunn who had a fabulous game. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was talking about the importance of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to step up their game during the ongoing injury crisis.
The former Everton striker has responded back in style to secure three points for the Red Devils. In the post-match interview, the striker said that he handed out the ball to Paul Pogba to take the penalty as he was the first choice set up by Solskjaer in the training.
Lukaku: “I am a striker and I wanted Paul Pogba to score the penalty, he has been on a good run but he has been an important player for us.” #mufc [BBC]

Romelu Lukaku: that’s 4 in 2. And United’a top scorer in the Premier League now with 12 goals. #mufc

I think the criticism of Lukaku has been fair and just, but there’s no denying that he’s a goalscorer. When he’s in the mood, he can’t stop. Four goals in his last two games.

Lukaku has just realised he’s actually right footed.

How funny would it be if Lukaku was actually right footed this whole time and he only just realised in the last week
