Former Pakistan captain and current coach and selector Misbah-ul-Haq has allured plentiful limelight after being given the dual responsibility in the Pakistani team. The 45-year old is being touted as the most powerful person in the Pakistani cricketing fraternity at this point in time.
Misbah’s appointment largely came as an aftermath of Pakistan’s mediocre performance in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
With Misbah calling the shots and cricket returning to Karachi after a decade, Pakistan’s cricket seems to be going in the right direction. While the results will only show up after some time, it appears as if the right decisions are being by the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board).
Addressing the media before the first ODI of the ongoing three-match series against Sri Lanka, Misbah was asked about the reports of him receiving a hefty salary for his dual role. Not hesitating from clearing the air, Misbah mentioned that he didn’t demand any handsome amount from the board.
“I’ve not performed any magic to get the jobs, I didn’t make any salary demands, I just asked them to pay me what they were paying the previous coach,” Misbah was quoted as saying.

A particular question which had it in it to receive a controversial answer from any other individual saw Misbah making any massive statement. During the same presser, Misbah was asked about his views on the prevailing Kashmir issue and whether the Pakistani players will wear caps like the Indian team after the Pulwama attack earlier this year.
“What do you want, my dear? The whole of Pakistan has sympathies with Kashmir, there’s no doubt in it. But let’s talk cricket,” Misbah said.
