MS Dhoni registers century: The legendary batsman is said to have scored a power-packed century in a recently concluded practice match.

There is no hiding to the fact that veteran wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be one of the highlight of the imminent season of the Indian Premier League.

Dhoni, who last played competitive cricket during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, has made his plentiful fans to wait for his return into competitive cricket.

The former Indian captain had missed the West Indies tour (and all subsequent series) last year due to his training for the parachute regiment of the Indian Army in Kashmir valley. Dhoni was in the news in January when his name wasn’t to be found in the list of annually contracted Indian players.

Dhoni’s craze could be calculated when fans came in the numbers of thousands to witness the 38-year old player entering the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai for Chennai Super Kings’ first practice session ahead of IPL 2020.

MS Dhoni registers century

In a recent practice match for Super Kings in Chennai, Dhoni is said to have scored a stellar century to turn back the clock.

Despite the match neither being televised nor the full scorecard of the same being available, there are reports of Dhoni scoring 123 (91) in the practice match.

A video which is surfacing of YouTube contains glimpses of Dhoni’s innings from that practice match. Dhoni is seen batting with Suresh Raina against the likes of spinner in Piyush Chawla and Karn Sharma.

Dhoni will lead Chennai in IPL 2020’s tournament opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians on March 29. If Dhoni continues to bat in this manner, expect him to call the shots in the forthcoming tournament.
