It was pipped as the Virat Kohli vs MS Dhoni clash and well, MS Dhoni has played his first cards, dishing out something that we haven’t ever seen from him on the cricket field.

The incident happened during the third over the match with Deepak Chahar catch QDK a little off guard, as the South African tried to pull a short ball, but got a top edge which went over Dhoni and was making its way to the boundary.

Dhoni, like a leopard, ran towards the ball, which was slowly approaching the boundary and kept the ball within the playing area.

His teammate had rushed towards him to help him out with the throw, but Dhoni signalled to him that he would do the throwing himself. Probably another first for all MS Dhoni fans out there.

The crowd hadn’t seen anything like that in the whole of MS Dhoni’s career and went bonkers over that effort

Match Situation

MS Dhoni put RCB into bat after winning the toss, as chasing at the Chinnaswamy has always been an issue, one because of the ground size and two because of the dew.

RCB have brought about two changes in their XI, bringing in CDG and Pawan Negi for Manan Vohra and Chris Woakes.

And just as I write this article Virat Kohli has departed, chipping it straight to Jadeja at mid on, while trying to whip the ball over mid wicket.

AB de Villiers has walked out to the middle and would be hoping to string a partnership together with his countryman QDK.
