WATCH: Naseem Shah troubles Australia A batsmen with extreme pace in Perth
Naseem Shah troubles Australia A batsmen: The 16-year old Pakistani fast bowler bowled serious pace in the warm-up match.
During the third day of the first warm-up match of the ongoing Pakistan’s tour of Australia between Australia A and Pakistan at the Perth Stadium, 16-year old Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah allured eyeballs with his extreme pace which saw him bowling a brutal bouncer to Australia A batsman Usman Khawaja.
Having not bowled in the first innings, Naseem was introduced into the attack as a first-change bowler on the final day today. On the penultimate delivery of the 22nd over, Naseem dismissed Australia A opening batsman Marcus Harris (20) after he edged a delivery to substitute wicket-keeper Abid Ali.
Had it not been for a dropped catch by Pakistan batsman Haris Sohail, Naseem would have got his first wicket pretty earlier. While bowling figures of 8-3-21-1 might not justify how well he bowled today, appreciation in the cricketing fraternity speaks highly about Naseem.
In what came as an unfortunate development, Naseem lost his mother yesterday but didn’t return to Pakistan after consultation with his family.
“Nasim [Shah] was to miss his mother’s funeral even if he left for Pakistan at the earliest. Therefore, after consultation with his family, he has decided to stay back,” a PCB spokesperson was quoted as saying by Dawn.com.
While the match ended in a draw, the visitors must have gained a lot of confidence after scoring 428/10 in 118 overs and bundling out Australia A for 122 in 56.4 overs.

Naseem Shah looks a serious prospect. 16 years old, just lost his mum two days ago, has spent the last few overs giving Usman Khawaja a serious working over in the Australia A v Pakistan match https://t.co/SxnnhqYOWE
