Watch Nicolas Pepe skilfully dribble past one Burnley defender and nutmeg the other in Arsenal’s first home match in the Premier League.

Arsenal have won against Burnley in their first home match of the Premier League. The North London side’s victory came courtesy of their heroes from the last season; Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The two forwards were ably supported by Dani Ceballos who ended the match with two assists to his name. The same amount that Mesut Ozil had for all of last season. Lacazette scored the first goal of the match by converting Ceballos’ corner and Aubameyang scored the winner through an assist from the Spanish midfielder.

Amidst all these heroics, there was another player, who shone brightly. Nicolas Pepe may not have returned with the numbers to his name like the other three above but he had a phenomenal showing on his home debut in what is encouraging signs for both Unai Emery and the fans.

Arsenal’s record signing was introduced at half-time. He replaced Reiss Nelson and effortlessly fit in with Aubameyang and Lacazette. He ended the match with 6 attempted take-ons with 4 completed. The highest for Arsenal today despite playing only 45 minutes. The highlight of the match though, was Pepe taking on the Burnley defenders.

In the 77th minute of the match, Pepe received a pass with two defenders behind of him. One of the defenders came charging from behind but the Ivorian bluffed him before placing the ball between the legs of the other defender.
