Sheffield picked up a surprise victory over Everton last week and looked to make a dent in another side this week. They looked good to share a point with Liverpool after smothering their famed attack for over an hour.
Unfortunately for them, their efforts will see no reward. Instead they have now lost 3 consecutive matches at home. Liverpool though could have ended with a goal more had Mane seized the opportunity presented to him.

Mane took Roberto Firmino’s inch-perfect pass in his stride to set up a one-on-one with Dean Henderson. However, the Senegal international missed the shot from 5-yards which went and hit the post instead, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Quite the nightmare game for him. Not everyone can shine every match they play. However, Mane will sigh with relief knowing that his misses did not cost his side all too much. 3 points are 3 points regardless of how they’ve come.
Liverpool will host Leicester City next week where they will hope to continue their winning streak. One that extends from early January this year. Sheffield United on the other hand, can give a pat on the back to themselves for putting up an incredible effort when hardly anyone gave them a chance.
