WATCH: Sarfaraz Khan hits seven fours in two overs off Pankaj Jaiswal in Ranji Trophy

Sarfaraz Khan hits seven fours in two overs: Mumbai’s batsman continued on his golden run in the premier domestic tournament.

During a league match of the ongoing 86th season of the Ranji Trophy between Himachal Pradesh and Mumbai in Dharamsala, Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan followed his maiden triple century in the previous match with his third First-class century to once again play the rescue act for his team.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the sixth over, Sarfaraz rescued his team from a score of 16/3. At tea on Day 1, Mumbai have scored 260/5 in 60 overs on the back of a 143-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Sarfaraz and captain Aditya Tare (62).

The highlight of Sarfaraz’s innings came in the 35th and 37th over when he hit Himachal Pradesh seamer Pankaj Jaiswal for seven boundaries in two overs to leave the right-arm bowler clueless of any idea to stop him.

On the third delivery of the 35th over, Sarfaraz drove Jaiswal down the ground to earn a boundary. Having hit a boundary through the off-side on the next ball, Sarfaraz once again drove the opposition bowler down the ground to hit his third four of the over.

With Himachal Pradesh all-rounder Akash Vashist bowling the next over, Sarfaraz played a late cut which saw him earning another four runs.

On the second delivery of the 37th over, Sarfaraz continued to punish the opposition bowlers as he hit another boundary off Jaiswal. Persisting with his ploy of scoring a flurry of boundaries, Sarfaraz scored two more fours in the same over.

Batting on 132* (156) at tea, Mumbai would be hoping for the 22-year old player to once again post a formidable total for them.
