Shadab Khan blusters Rizwan Hussain: Islamabad United’s captain was furious with his batsman not throwing at the striker’s end.

During the 14th match of the ongoing fifth season of the Pakistan Super League between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings in Rawalpindi, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan was furious with their batsman Rizwan Hussain for him not throwing at the striker’s end.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the 15th over when Karachi Kings batsman Iftikhar Ahmed played a delivery from Shadab Khan towards the point and called for a single.

With a slight hesitation between Ahmed and Kings wicket-keeper batsman Chadwick Walton, Shadab Khan expected point fielder Hussain to throw the ball at the striker’s end.

While it was unclear if Shadab Khan wanted to get Walton out or believed throwing to wicket-keeper Luke Ronchi would have been a safe option, he blustered Hussain for not doing so.

Having said that, a hilarious development left Shadab Khan bewildered after he learnt that Hussain’s plot of attempting a direct-hit at the non-striker’s end had found Ahmed (1) short of his crease.

Chasing a 184-run target, Karachi registered victory in the penultimate over on the back of a 24-ball 48-run match-winning partnership between Walton (23) and Karachi captain Imad Wasim (32).

Earlier, Islamabad scored 183/3 after Wasim won the toss and chose to field. Ronchi (85) and Shadab Khan (54) putting together a 106-run partnership for the fourth wicket played a vital role in United posting a comprehensive total.
