Watch: The Entire Stadium screamed “SIIU” with Cristiano Ronaldo after he scored a goal for Portugal last night vs Luxembourg in the Euro 2020 Qualifiers.
Defending European Champions Portugal, completed their 3rd on the trot. Their 3-0 win against Luxembourg has put them in firm command at 2nd position in their group, just behind Ukraine who have a lead of 5 points with a game extra.

Bernardo Silva, who has been brilliant for both club and country, opened the scoring in the 16th minute. The team however, lost their depth soon after and even though they never seemed in danger of conceding, they didn’t look threatening thereafter.
The team came back with a vengeance in the second half and doubled their lead in the 65th minute of the match through their skipper Cristiano Ronaldo who notched up his 94th international goal to bring himself all the more closer to the illustrious 3 digit figure.

He also pushed his career tally to an astonishing 699 goals! The real magic however, came in the moments that proceeded the scoring of the goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo stole the ball off Maxime Chanot before chipping the ball over Morris to score his side’s second goal. As he usually does, Ronaldo ran to the side of the field to celebrate the goal with his trademark “SIUU”. However, he was not the only one screaming the famous chant this time.
Over 50,000 people in the Jose Alvalade Stadium erupted alongside their Portuguese hero to join him in his celebration!

Portugal would eventually win the match 3-0 after Goncalo Guedes scored the final goal in the 89th minute to end Portugal’s night of complete domination.
Portugal will next meet group leaders Ukraine on Monday. Cristiano Ronaldo’s side have the opportunity to shorten the gap between the two by winning the match. However, doing so will not be an easy task at all. Ukraine are after all, yet to lose a match in the qualifiers so far and have already won 5 on the trot.
