WATCH: Verstappen gives journalist the finger in Singapore GP press conference
Verstappen gives journalist the finger after he was told that Lewis Hamilton was better than him and that he was just not good enough for Lewis on the day.
Max Verstappen had one of his best grand prix weekends in Singapore this time round, taking the fight to both Vettel and Hamilton, something that none of the other top drivers have been able to do in the last two months.
Verstappen qualified in P2 on Saturday, throwing Vettel off the front row, despite Ferrari allegedly having the best package on track.
Raceday had started badly for Max, as Vettel was easily able to brush him aside on lap 1, just before the safety car came on, thanks to the coming together of Perez and Ocon.
However, Verstappen and Red Bull did not quite give up then, as a brilliant pit stop and Vettel getting stuck in traffic meant that Verstappen was able to come out in front of Vettel.
And from there on, the young Dutchman wasn’t letting up, as he held onto this 2nd spot right till the end of the race.
Red Bull was looking good enough to go for the win as well, but Hamilton managed the race pace to perfection and gave Verstappen absolutely no chance to get in front.
In the post race press conference, Verstappen was told that he wasn’t good enough for Lewis on the day, and while one must have expected a fiery(or an honest reply), but Verstappen wanted to have some fun after that boring race and ended up showing the finger to the journalist.
Lewis and Sebastien couldn’t control laughing and Verstappen gave us what was probably the best moment of the weekend(after that monstrous lap from Hamilton).
