WATCH: When Jadeja appealed to the umpire after Lakmal got clean bowled

Why do we call Ravindra Jadeja as ‘Sir Ravindra Jadeja’? Whenever he cracks a joke, that becomes a sensation. Jadeja’s act quite often holds a tinge of humour and ‘thug life'(if you may). Lord Bendtner or Zlatan Ibrahimovic is to football as Sir Ravindra Jadeja is to cricket. This relation doesn’t change.

Have you ever seen a bowler appealing to the umpire despite making a mess of the batsman’s stumps? Quite strange isn’t it? Only Ravindra Jadeja can do that. During the Day 4 of the third and final Test between India and Sri Lanka in Feroz Shah Kotla, one of the funniest incidents took place that made everyone shriek with laughter.

Team India set up a mammoth 410 target to the visitors. Virat Kohli,Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan’s crunchy fifties steered the team to post a super cool target.

Sri Lanka’s countdown of ‘battle for survival’ has already started. In pursuit of chasing the target, they lost Samarawickrama for just 5 runs, courtesy Mohammed Shami who took the wicket as Ajinkya Rahane took a pretty good catch at the gully position.

Karunaratne who was looking to settle in was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja on 13 runs. The opener tried to connect the shot only to be edged and caught by Wriddhiman Saha in the 16th over of the very first ball.

With the final session was coming to a close, Sri Lanka had no other idea but to send the night watchman Suranga Lakmal at the crease. His idea was to middle the balls and play safely to save the team from all sorts of trouble before the end of the final session of Day 4.

However, Suranga Lakmal was dismissed for a duck in the fourth ball of the same over as he couldn’t play Jadeja’s ball properly as he edged his bat in the lower side and the ball made its way to hit the stumps. After this, Jadeja appealed to the umpire Joel Wilson which he himself got shocked why was the bowler appealing.

The teammates were spotted laughing after seeing Jadeja appealing. Others who got a clear picture of the incident, immediately understood that it was a ‘clean bowled’. But Jadeja stole the spotlight for trying something different only to be trolled by his teammates later on.
