When will Indian team travel to UAE for Asia Cup 2018?
When will Indian team travel to UAE for Asia Cup 2018: Sportsrush presents before you the full details of Indian team’s travel to UAE for Asia Cup.
With the Test series against England just wrapping up a day before yesterday and the Asia Cup starting on the day after tomorrow, a lot of questions are being put regarding the Indian team’s travel to the UAE for the tournament.
Despite the tournament commencing on September 15, it is worth mentioning that India will their first match against Hong Kong on September 18 at Dubai. With just a seven-day gap between the England Test and the Asia Cup match, traveling was bound to become an onerous task especially for players who are featuring in both the teams.
If reports are to be believed, the Indian team will travel in two parts to UAE. Out of the 16-member squad, the 10 players (Rohit Sharma (c), Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Axar Patel, Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kedar Jadhav and Khaleel Ahmed) who weren’t a part of the England series are supposed to be traveling to the UAE today, i.e., September 13.
The others (Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik and Shardul Thakur), who were part of the England series, will travel direct to the UAE on September 16 (Sunday).
Considering the hectic scheduling of the modern-day cricket, taking such measures becomes a necessity. However, Hardik Pandya’s recent tweet has added some confusion on the whole matter. “Back to India gutted with the result but it was a well fought series and good to be back home for couple of days before we fly again for Asia cup in few days time !”, said the all-rounder on his official Twitter handle.
