Who is Man United's fastest player?

Who is Man United’s fastest player? Deji Sotona is officially the fastest player at Manchester United outbeating Daniel James in speed.

Ole Solskjaer has recently started using players who can exploit the opposite defense by using their pace, this is why Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James are being used by Manchester United‘s gaffer regularly.

It is also remarked that to replicate Sir Alex Ferguson’s playing style, Solskjaer tries to get Manchester United to attack with pace.

Thus, it is a good news for Manchester United that they have someone even faster in the roster to apply their playing style. The 16-year-old player is even faster than James and his name is Deji Sotona.

According to the Daily Mail, Sotona is now the fastest player at the club having recently smashed a sprint record, previously held by defender Diogo Dalot.

In tests at a training ground Carrington, Sotona clocked a staggering 22.9mph – more than 1.2mph ahead of second quickest Dalot.

The 16-year-old player currently plays in Manchester United’s U-18 team, and is backed to make an entry into the first team in coming years.

On the other hand, Sotona has already made an appearance for Republic of Ireland at the youth level, but he is still eligible to appear for Engalnd’s national team.

It is also reported that he has caught the eyeballs of Solskjaer, who made it clear that pace is very important to the way he wants his side to play.

“Pace and power, Man United, that’s what we are,” Solskjaer said four days after arriving at Old Trafford.

“When we have players like we have with pace… that’s how we played with Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Ryan Giggs, and Becks (David Beckham) down the sides. We attack quickly when you can. That’s my philosophy as well.” he further said.

As for now, Sotona doesn’t seem to be anywhere near to appear for the senior side, except for the cup matches against inferior sides. It is remained to see, when will Solskjaer bring the youngster at the center stage.
