Why is Kuldeep Yadav not playing today’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match versus Bangladesh at Edgbaston in Birmingham

Team India’s premier wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been left out of the Playing 11 for the India vs Bangladesh match No.40 of the ICC Cricket World Cup at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the Toss in the bright sunny morning at Edgbaston and chose to bat first. It is worth mentioning that India are playing at the same very venue where they locked horns against England a couple of days ago. While India needs one win off the remaining two league matches to qualify for the semi-finals, it is a do-or-die match for Bangladesh to remaining in contention for 4th spot.
Owing to the shorter boundary
Post winning the Toss, Kohli annouced a couple of vital changes in the Playing 11 to their match against England. Citing the shorter boundaries at Edgbaston, which was one of the prime reasons for India’s loss against England the other day, Kohli has replaced its Chinaman spinner with the back from injury seamer- Bhuvaneshwar Kumar in the playing 11.
Kuldeep went for 72 runs in 10 overs against England and was able to take the lone wicket of Jonny Bairstow after he along with Jason Roy had shared a magnificent 160-run opening stand.
However, the other wrist spinner- Yuzvendra Chahal had even bowled worse than him and gave away as many as 88 runs in his 10-over spell without picking a single wicket. He has been surprisingly retained in the squad.
Kedar Jadhav misses too
India’s middle order batsman and a possible sixth-bowling option- Kedar Jadhav has also been handed a selection snub after he was criticised for his slow innings during the death overs vs England. He has made way for the experienced wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik in the playing 11.
Thus, India rarely go with 3 wicket-keeper batsman (including Rishabh Pant) in today’s game versus Bangladesh.
