Miro AEW

The acquisition of Miro was seen by many as one of the biggest gets for AEW. That proved to be true when The Redeemer won the TNT Championship and went on one of the most entertaining reigns of the title’s short existence. However, despite being one of the most over wrestlers in the promotion, he has barely featured on AEW TV. In fact, he has only wrestled four matches in the entirety of 2022!

It is true that Miro has had issues with injury in the past. However, despite being healthy for quite a while now, he has not made any appearances on Dynamite. Much of this, however, appears to be on Tony Khan than it does on the wrestler, who by all accounts is more than eager to return.

Real Reason why Miro is not seen on AEW Television anymore

Miro’s last appearance in AEW was at All Out when he teamed up with Darby Allin and Sting to beat House of Black all the way back on September 4th. He has not been used since.

According to a report from Fightful, the 37-year-old is ready and waiting to return. However, no creative plans have been presented to him yet.

There were plans for him to sit down and discuss his future creative plans going forward. However, no such conversation has taken place so far.

Tony Khan seems to not want to book his top stars to lose too often. It is quite plausible that since he has no plans for Miro and given how protected the Bulgarian is, he possibly doesn’t want to feature him in not too important storylines where he may have to lose a match or two.

Was Miro better off in the WWE?

Before his current stint in AEW, Miro earned his name and fame as Rusev in the WWE. He had a dominant run as the US Champion in his debut year and even fought John Cena at WrestleMania. However, he quickly fell down the totem pole and became a permanent mid card act.

Being the charismatic star he is, he pulled himself back in favor with the fans and became one of the most popular wrestlers in the company at the time with his Rusev Day gimmick.

However, he failed to convince the one man that mattered. With Vince McMahon failing to see what everyone else could, he never became a WWE Champion. He was eventually released from the promotion back in 2020.

Miro debuted in AEW shortly after. He had a slow start to his stint but quickly picked steam with his feud against Darby Allin. He became the TNT Champion and put on quality matches and promos; all things fans knew he was capable of.

Miro has not done anything of note since dropping the title. This has led to many wondering if he was simply better off in the WWE where he was at least a regular feature. Some argue however, that AEW has protected his character unlike the WWE where his character seemed to degrade himself by the week.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
