Bayley Rolls Asuka To Retain SmackDown Women's Championship At Summerslam

Bayley passes the Asuka test, retains WWE SmackDown Women’s championship, at the biggest party of the summer.

Bayley’s reign as the WWE SmackDown women champion continues, as she has defeated Asuka in the very first match-up of the year’s Summerslam. The Women’s title is been in her possession for the last 317 days now, and will go further.

Coming into the match Asuka had all the momentum, as she made the champion tap, a couple of weeks ago. And she was in control for the majority of the part at Summerslam as well, but Sasha Banks, Raw Women’s Champion, who accompanied Bayley to the ring proved to be the deciding factor.

Bayley Vs. Asuka: Match Summary

The match kicked-off the main show, and both women displayed a confident image, while entering the ring. Asuka started off strong, and looked to make Bayley submit early on, but Bayley was able to reach the ropes. Soon Bayley hit the rhythm, and enjoyed a good spell where she even pulled a Bayley-to-belly suplex. However, Asuka was able to kick out at two. Afterwards, Asuka turned things around and was all over Bayley, and the WWE virtual universe was in full support of her. Shortly, Sasha Banks came into the picture, and made several distractions before the ultimate one which bolstered Bayley to roll Asuka for a pinfall victory.

However, Asuka still has the opportunity to capture Gold, as later in the night she will face Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s Championship.
