Cody Rhodes Roman Reigns

Cody Rhodes’ loss to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 was probably the most heartbreaking moment of this year so far. After winning the Royal Rumble match, Cody Rhodes set out to finish the story. His fans believed for sure that Rhodes was going to be the one to put an end to Roman’s indomitable title reign. However, a spoilsport act from Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa kept Cody from realizing the American dream. His sister, Teil Rhodes, explains why his loss was heartbreaking.

Rhodes’ embarrassing loss took place in front of his family. His wife, daughter, mother, and sister were seated in the front row at WrestleMania 39.

His family members know what a competitive guy the American Nightmare is. Cody hates losing so much that he once went days without speaking to his sister after losing against her in the Street Fighter video game.

Cody Rhodes’ sister explains why his loss to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania devastated him

The moment Cody Rhodes lost the match at the Grandest Stage, the WWE Universe was left shattered. His sister Teil Rhodes took to Twitter to share a link to the song- “I Burned Down LA’, by Noah Cyrus, to express her sorrow for her brother.

On April 18th, Teil Rhodes explained why Cody Rhodes hates losing so much on her social media. It seems that Rhodes is so cutthroat that he does not handle his losses very well.

“The well, Cody wanted to lose convo is very funny to me. He never wants to lose. One time I beat him at Street Fighter and he didn’t speak to me for 3 days”

Teil shared that her brother is so obsessed with winning that he went three days without speaking to her after losing at Street Fighter against her.

In fact, the youngest son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes once took a loss in amateur wrestling so seriously that a WWE legend had to placate him.

DDP recalls how Cody Rhodes reacted to his first loss in amateur wrestling

Speaking on WrestleBinge, WWE Hall of Famer, DDP revealed how Cody Rhodes dealt with his first loss in amateur wrestling. According to him, Rhodes went 48-0 until he lost to a kid in his second year. Page recalled calling Cody Rhodes and helping him cope with the loss.

DDP urged Cody to accept the losses positively and learn from them. DDP’s words of wisdom played a vital role as Cody Rhodes went ahead and avenged his loss the next time, he faced the same kid who handed him his first loss.

“Went 48-0 and then he lost to a kid in his second year and I called him up and I’m like, ‘Cody,’ I’m like, ‘What’s up, buddy?’ He’s like, ‘Dallas, I lost, I lost,’” DDP said. “It devastated him and I was like, ‘Thank God.’”
