Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most influential people in showbiz. The wrestler-turned-actor is also one of the most revered personalities in WWE and Hollywood. But his fame and reputation haven’t kept him from controversies. One of Johnson’s tweets from 2011 caught the ire of his fans, as it was regarded as transphobic. The Rock was even called out on it by Donald Trump Jr.

In the world of today, with wokeism at its peak, making hurtful remarks on sensitive issues is highly condemning. Nobody can say controversial things on political or social issues on the internet and expect to get away with it without having to deal with the consequences or backlash from the people.

Dwayne Johnson stirred up major controversy in 2022 due to an insensitive remark he made in 2011.

Donald Trump Jr. calls out Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for making a transphobic comment on Twitter

Taking to Twitter, Donald Trump Jr. criticized Dwayne Johnson for his prejudiced comments against transgender people. In a now-deleted tweet, Johnson seems to be addressing the comment to a Twitter user stating-

“It’s not our fault you’re turning tranny tricks to put yourself thru nursing school.”

Citing The Rock’s double standard comment, Donald Trump’s eldest son impugned the former’s moral code in 2022. Trump Jr. admonished Johnson for expecting his comment to be swept under the rug. He further questioned The Rock’s business sponsors if they agree with Johnson’s rhetoric.

He tweeted- “Wow, @TheRock, you can’t just try to quietly delete transphobic attacks without giving a groveling apology and expect to ever work in Hollywood again,” the former president’s eldest son tweeted on Saturday, alongside a screenshot of a 2011 tweet.

Transgender rights activist Caitlyn Jenner tweeted in support of Donald Trump Jr. and reprimanded The Rock for his insensitive expression. Caitlyn Jenner f.k.a Bruce Jenner famously announced her transition in 2015.  While Jenner stated that she loved The Rock, she did not take his comments very kindly.

Will The Rock return to WWE at WrestleMania 40?

The Rock’s return was heavily speculated ahead of WrestleMania 39. But the dream match between The Great One and the Tribal Chief did not materialize due to the former’s Hollywood schedule.

Cody Rhodes was reportedly WWE’s backup plan to go against Roman Reigns in case The Rock couldn’t do the show. Wrestling fans still wonder if The 10-time World Champion will make his return at WrestleMania 40.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that The Rock’s return at WrestleMania 40 in Philidelphia is a possibility but not a certainty.

“Dwayne Johnson, when he turned down this year due to schedule, did leave a crack in the door open about possibly doing Philadelphia at WrestleMania 40 next year,” said Dave.
