Eric Bischoff takes a swipe at Goldberg

Eric Bischoff takes a swipe at Goldberg. The former WWE Executive called the former Universal champion a passable in-ring worker.

Goldberg is possibly one of the most well known names in professional wrestling. The former Universal Champion has multiple accolades to his name. He also won the World Heavyweight Championship in the WWE and was a Triple Crown Champion in the WCW.

Goldberg also has the record of the longest undefeated streak in professional wrestling. He has a generally accepted figure of 173-0, a record that was established in WCW under the watchful eyes of Eric Bischoff. However, it seems that the former WWE RAW manager isn’t too impressed with what he brought to the ring.

While talking about former IMPACT star Hernandez, Bischoff compared him to Goldberg, claiming that both of them were very limited in the what they brought to the ring.

”You put a microphone in front of him and his head would spin off his shoulders,” Bischoff said on his 83 Weeks podcast. “He just couldn’t do it. I’m not saying he was bad at it. I’m saying it was impossible for him to cut a promo. Impossible. He would damn near have a seizure as he would be so nervous about it. It was that bad.

“He wasn’t the greatest worker in the ring. He was passable, He was a little like Bill Goldberg in a sense. If you kept his move set down to a few and made sure he was really strong and didn’t put him in a position to sell a lot, as a performer, you can do some great things with him. He had a cool look. But, man, you couldn’t do a promo with him.”

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
