FIFA World Cup 2023 star Achraf Hakimi is in the news for his divorce from Hiba Abouk. This has come after allegations that the PSG full back s*xually abused a 24-year-old woman while the famous actress was away. She demanded half of the footballer’s assets and fortune, but left empty-handed after realizing he had next to nothing to his name. His situation is vastly different from WWE legend Hulk Hogan, who ended up with a costly divorce from his ex-wife Linda Marie Claridge.
Following allegations of infidelity, Hulk Hogan and his then wife got entangled in what was a messy and very public separation from each other. There was a lot of mudslinging before the two finally reached a settlement. Unfortunately, for the Hulkster, he ended up losing a lot more than he expected.
Hulk Hogan Could Have Drawn a Leaf Out of Achraf Hakimi’s Book
Linda Marie Claridge filed for divorce from Hulk Hogan back in 2007. By 2009, their ugly divorce was finally settled with Linda walking away with 70% of their liquid assets, totaling up to $7.44 million. She also received a property settlement valued at $3 million, apart from a 40% share of companies owned by the Hulkster.
Linda was also awarded a Mercedes-Benz, a Cadillac Escalade, a Corvette, a Rolls-Royce and various off-road vehicles as part of their divorce settlement.
Per eonline, Linda walked out of the marriage with assets worth around $30 million!
This is in vast contrast to the proceedings in Hakimi’s divorce case.
The millionaire footballer managed to avoid having to pay up to his wife by making his mother the beneficiary of his salary and his assets.
Despite making €1 million per month, 80% of this amount is deposited into his mother’s account. The $78 million worth soccer star does not have any property or assets registered to his name.
This has prevented his ex-wife Hiba Abouk from having any legal claim to his wealth.
What was the reason behind Hulk Hogan’s divorce?
Hulk Hogan admitted that there were problems in his marriage but was still surprised by the divorce. He claimed that the reason for their separation was the TV Show Hogan Knows Best. However, Linda later confirmed that she filed for divorce because of his alleged affair with Christiane Plante, former best friend of their daughter Brooke Hogan.
Plainte addressed the affair once, but the Hulkster has remained mum over it.
Interestingly, during their divorce, Linda started dating Charley Hill, who used to go to the same high school as their daughter Brooke.
Hulk Hogan and Linda Claridge tied the knot in 1983.
